Audiograph

Inspired by the seismograph, a mechanical device that depicts subterranean colliding of tectonic plates, Audiograph is an instrument that renders sound energy into visual music. It is built from machined tooling grade aluminium parts and is electronically controlled through custom built embedded hard and software. This allows for a high degree of precision control and synchronisation to sound and music. When synced to LFO’s or sequencers of synthesizer systems, a graphic representation of patterns becomes visible. It’s also possible to synchronise to the BPM of a soundtrack.

Each plot measures 495mm in diameter and is made with black pen on white paper. Get in touch for inquiries or custom work.

Audiograph is closely related to the project Solid Vibration, capturing three dimensional oscillation in ceramic vessels.
